Education, Training and Professional Experience
Originally from Ithaca, NY, Dr. Bell received his BA from Cornell University and then moved to Valhalla, NY, located just minutes from New York City, to begin medical school at New York Medical College, one of the nation's largest private health sciences university. After two years at the Valhalla campus, Dr. Bell moved to Manhattan for the next five years to complete medical school and his residency at St. Vincent's Hospital. At that time St Vincent's saw a great number of patients with complications of HIV and AIDS, and also had a severely ill patient population with a busy intensive care unit leading to Dr. Bell taking a deep interest in critical care. Following his residency, Dr. Bell further trained in pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL, from where he graduated in 2006.

Since moving to Portland, Dr. Bell has worked at Kaiser Permanente, in a private practice, and at Vibra Specialty Hospital in the specialized care of patients with lung diseases and on ventilators. Dr. Bell is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, critical care medicine and sleep medicine.
